All I ever did was pull a valve cover, be assured both valves are closed, remove the number 1 spark plug and use a breaker bar on the balancer bolt. I would slip a screw driver into the spark plug hole and move the breaker bar, when I felt the screw driver stop moving up I knew I found TDC.
