WebI don't think that's the reason why it did't work, but if you try to make your earbuds go in pairing mode and they're out of the charging case, make sure it remains open during the pairing process, and don't press the pairing button immediatly. The pairing should be automatic and maybe by pressing the button on the case you might interupt it.
